Welcome to the new Taos Sunday Farmer’s Market
The goal of the Taos Sunday Market
The organizers of the Sunday Market want to provide local farmers, ranchers, market gardeners, resellers, and others involved in agricultural pursuits with a viable direct marketing venue.
Many such vendors who currently display at the Taos Farmer’s Market will welcome the opportunity to present their products for an additional or optional day of the week. Others who are unable to partake of the Farmer’s Market venue will be able to use the Sunday Market as a means to make their goods available to the public. By having this new venue the organizers hope to increase awareness, participation, and appreciation of local growers, and to increase opportunities for vendors and consumers.
We envision an active market ultimately composed of at least 50% vendors who are farmers and ranchers. Interested farmers and ranchers are encouraged to consider joining the Advisory Board of the Market.
Making fresh local products available to any greater portion of thecommunity will benefit us all. Everyone needs food, every day. Localization of our food supply is one of the most important and effective ways we can improve the well being of our selves, our families, our community, and our planet. It saves money and non-renewable resources, and empowers a community by keeping the driving force of its economy HERE.
